NATIVE - Aka-American Filbert is an easily grown, deciduous, multi-stemmed shrub. Showy flowers give way to edible nuts that mature in July and may be roasted and eaten or ground into flour, but are also commonly left for the squirrels and birds. Removal of root suckers will help maintain plant appearance.
