Foliage emerges a rich maroon-red and darkens to almost purplish red or black. The flowers are also purplish red. The color doesn't fade in the summer. Fall color is a rich red-purple. Darkest color, but not as cold hardy; plant in a somewhat protected spot. Easy to grow and moderately fast.
