Medium sized, deciduous shade tree. The shape is pyramidal in youth, becoming rounded at maturity. Foliage is dark green and turns rich yellow-brown in the early fall. Acorns, a bur-like cup that covers almost all of the nut, are produced on the mature tree. Slow to medium growth rate. Adaptable once established. Slow to re-establish after transplanting. Well adapted to the Midwest.
