NATIVE - Large deciduous shade tree. Shape is pyramidal when young, becoming spreading and rounded with age. Dark green foliage usually turns deep red in the late fall. Acorns are produced on the mature tree. May take time to re-establish after transplanting. Growth rate is medium-fast. Good for the Midwest. Will not grow as fast or get as big as rubra.
