Small to medium deciduous shade tree. Medium to dark green, lustrous foliage is thought to show less blotch and early defoliation in late summer than most of this species. Flowers open in May as upright, greenish yellow clusters. Reputedly produces few fruits. Appropriate for naturalized plantings. Attracts butterflies.
