An Ohio native replacement for sweet autumn clematis, Clematis paniculata. A rapid grower and can reach 12 to 20 feet. It prefers rich, moist, well-drained soil in full sun to shade. Masses of lightly fragrant white flowers in late summer followed by silvery plumed seed clusters for fall interest or dried arrangements. Can be aggressive, prune hard in late fall or early spring to control spread. Very attractive to pollinators Deer resistant.
