Deciduous shrub or small tree that thrives in a variety of soil types and moisture conditions. In spring, it produces clusters of fragrant white flowers, followed by edible blueberry-like fruits in early summer. Foliage turns brilliant shades of yellow to red in the fall, adding seasonal interest. Spring blooms attract bees, butterflies and other pollinators and berries provide food for birds and other animals. Minimal pruning to maintain shape or remove suckers.
