This apple is green but mellows to light yellow as it ripens. Good for fresh eating, cider, sauces, and pies, but flavor develops in complexity as it ages. Apparently a favorite of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Late season bloomer. Ripens in October. Needs pollination with other late season varieties.
