Deep blue lacecap florets in acidic soils; pink to mauve in neutral soils. Glossy, dark green foliage has a reddish tinge in the fall. Strong, upright, purple-black stems support big blooms of small-flower centers surrounded by darker, larger sterile florets. Great accent or border shrub.
