Its bark matures to a rich cinnamon red, developing broad plates separated by deep fissures. Branches are short and with distinctive long, slender needles. Can grow to more than 40’, so give it room to thrive. Its deep tap root, helps it withstand summer drought and high winds. Attracts birds, beneficial insects and small mammals.
