NATIVE - Potentially massive, deciduous shade tree. Shape is broadly pyramidal to broadly oval with age. Foliage is dark green and turns scarlet in the late fall. Acorns are produced on the mature tree. Slow to medium growth rate. Adaptable also to drier sites, once established. Slow to re-establish after transplanting. Very adaptable to the Midwest.
