A clump forming warm season grass native to Ohio. Prefers full sun, it has a tendency to flop if it is in too much shade. Grows to around 3' with flower plumes to 6' in August. Cut back in late winter to early spring just before new growth appears. Self-seeds readily, cut back after flowering if not desired. Loved by birds for the seeds and cover.
